01Confidential Retail Client / Workflow digitisation
A dedicated mobile app replaced manual forms and WhatsApp, guiding users from supplier selection to order confirmation.
02The Challenge
Supplier ordering relied on manual forms and WhatsApp. The challenge was to bring every ordering step into one structured mobile journey.
How might we
How might we transform manual supplier ordering into a clear, structured mobile experience?
03My Role
I owned the design end to end, from stakeholder requirements to implementation support.
04Design Process
Reviewed stakeholder requirements and the manual ordering approach.
Structured the flow from supplier selection to order confirmation.
Created mobile UI designs for each ordering step.
Prepared development handover and supported implementation.
05Ordering Journey
01Select supplier
Today’s available suppliers come first, each with its delivery date, cut-off time and lead time, so the user has a clear place to start.
02Browse products
The chosen supplier’s products appear as one list with image, SKU and unit of measure, and search narrows a long catalogue.
03Enter quantities
A quantity stepper sits on every item, with the carton total updating underneath, so ordering happens in the same list.
04Review order
A preview gathers the supplier, order and delivery dates, every item and quantity, and a remark field before anything is sent.
05Confirm order
Confirm order opens a short check, “Are you sure?”, with a clear way to confirm and an equally clear “I changed my mind”, so nothing is sent by accident.
06Order success
Order Successfully Placed, with the order reference, a Share action and a way back to the list of suppliers.
06Design Decisions
A clear starting point for choosing a supplier.
Supplier products organised into an understandable selection experience.
Controls for specifying product quantities and units.
The prepared order reviewed before confirmation.
A clear submission action, with a final check before the order is sent.
A success screen with the order reference, ready to share, and a route back to the supplier list.
07Before & After
Before
Manual supplier ordering using forms and WhatsApp.
After
A structured supplier ordering experience within a mobile application.
08Outcome
Live internal product
The supplier ordering app was developed, deployed and is live for internal operational teams. It provides a structured supplier ordering journey that replaces the previous manual forms-and-WhatsApp approach.
